The reason to run a celeb site simply is that there is a market for it.
Most celebrity sites nowadays only display vidcaps and movies. Film studios have taken celeb sites for what they are worth: Advertising. many even make film reviews and offer upsell links to amazon and other movie online shops. If you see a great vidcap you will probably buy the movie you probably never heard of before. Movie studios even send out content to certain sites like Mr.Skin and others. Magazines like Celebrity Sleuth and Celebrity Skin run the movie content for ages without any trouble.
The troublemakers are the magazines because adult magazines are loosing subscribers every day due to internet porn but celebrity sites have pulled the magazine stuff out of their sites like 2 years ago.
