God is supposed to be our "father". And he is supposed to be a perfect father. He is the role model men are supposed to emulate in their own relationships with their own children.
My point is that such a perfect "father" doesn't need his "children" telling him how great he is all the time. I, a very imperfect person, would never ask my son to "praise" me. Rather, the other way around would be more likely.
What's sad is that I have to point this out.
