My dad DOES have a history of smoking he is trying, but can't help having a 'sly' one... whenever I go to see him I give him a lecture... My mother died from chronic airways syndrome... emphasema (i dont care if I spelt it work) basically... his only release since then has been his cigars
Time will tell how bad his situation is... hopefully it will be something that can be treated.
