Microsoft has released a list of more than 85 enhancements included in the next dashboard revamp.
Xbox 360 owners will soon be getting another boost to the functionality of their beloved console. Starting tomorrow, October 31, a free Fall System Update will be downloadable from Xbox Live. You won't need a disc or a hard drive to take advantage of this download, in fact, you can get it even if you don't have an Xbox Live account. Just hook up your system to a broadband Internet connection and it'll get the update automatically.
There are more than 85 enhancements included in the Fall System Update, with some of the biggest new features focused on expanded High Definition support and video playback tweaks. The update will enable 1080p output from the Xbox 360 for both game and video content. It will also allow the Xbox 360 to stream WMV video from a Windows PC running Media Player 11 or Windows Media Connect. Enhancements will also be made to Xbox Live Arcade, such as new sorting options to make games easier to find, the ability to automatically download newly released Xbox Live Arcade trial games on the day of their release, and a streamlined "Play Now" feature.
Support for upcoming Microsoft accessories, such as the Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel, HD DVD Player, and Zune MP3 player, are also included in the update. You can see a complete list of all 85 features on the
official Xbox 360 website.
