I'm also using twistys in another site which gets around 500 hits a day with the same settings
You said on another site,
Check your traffic sources on the site in question. If it's a lot of paid traffic you just may not be getting a lot of join page hits or click thru's.
If you are getting 2k a day and your at 70/30 than 1400 should be going to galleries and you gotta figure a small % of those will actually click on the galleries.
