yes you may get a longer billing cycle for that one site but you will lose that person forever
conversely if you are honest with the surfer they will not buy that particular membership but they will buy one that you do recommend
the rebills for that site will be just as long but when they get tired of that site/network of sites
they will still respect your honesty. Which means they will come back and you will get another sale when for new sites you recommend.

There are two types of sites... the one that do an excellent job at maintaining a good experience to the member and the ones that don't. There is nothing wrong with a site with repeating content. The vast majority of sites on the web have some sort of rotation script for the content, based on the realistic possibility that someday there will not be the means or reason to shoot new content. It's a fact.
But again, keeping up the illusion of a fresh site is much more important. Generally, if a surfer is coming in through affiliate links they are viewing the site for the first time. They wouldn't know if the content was shot yesterday or 5 years ago. The important thing to remember is they saw something they liked and clicked through to see more.
So again, it does not matter if the content is old or new, just how the overall experience is.
And I love Steve's analogies.
