Britney got to the point where she was no longer making appearances that she was paid to make, and no longer able to perform on stage. That awards show lip sync thing was a disaster, apparently brought on by a doctor that shot her up with serious drugs to relax her enough to get her on stage. Sadly, it also turned her into a walking zombie.
