Yes and no. It is not "by far the biggest trade", although it may very well be the biggest pull for tourism. I do understand that you dont like the place, and you are not alone. There is much to dislike about any country, including the usa. Wrong again. Sure as a foreigner without permanent visa status there can be problems, not to mention the double pricing, constant minor shakedowns the (rich!) foreigner is subjected to, etc. But the fact is that the average american in thailand has far more actual real life privileges and "freedoms" than 98% of thai citizens do. The thai govt (as well as most foreign govts) actually treads quite lightly with americans and other westerners, because they know that we have a lot of clout compared to their own citizens who usually have little. Thats just a fact but you choose to only look at the negatives. And do you know of any country in the world where you dont lose much of your (actual) freedom if you have no money? I dont.

Look, i wasnt interested in getting into a flame war. But if you go back and objectively read some of the stuff you have said here you will see how you are painting an awful lot of people with a broad brush. And i think i have demonstrated that a lot of the statements you made just dont add up.
Still, on your main point about this guy we agree. I remember thinking the first time i saw one of his sites that he was probably a sleaze. Most of these motel photographers have little to recommend them. For you to talk about him is fine, after all YOU WERE HIS PARTNER. But why you had to belittle thousands of other people you dont even know is interesting. .
