my understanding of the post is that the word Käfighaltung is a noun identifying caged animals. in english we don't really do that.

for instance in some languages they have nouns for the various stages of fruit. for example: a peach is called one name when growing and another when ripe. we use modifiers. we would say ripe peach, instead of using a different noun.

we have prisoner and that's about it really. look to the slang dictionaries be my thoughts.
