I respectfully disagree...
It is incumbent upon the sport that a level playing field is created, and that players do not feel that they are compelled to use dangerous drugs in order to be able to compete.
Athletes are role models (whether they like it or not), and the reason that High School kids take steroids is because they see their heroes doing it, or they feel that they are at an unfair disadvantage if they don't, when they know others are doing it.
When sports stars of the past decade start developing cancer and die in their 50's due to steroid use, and the sports decide to get serious about irradicating performance enhancing drugs, it will already be too late for tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of young people whom never got a sports scholarship to college, let alone a lucrative pro contract.
I hope the powers that be come down hard on this issue, and take the necessary steps to try and make sports clean.
