I have plenty on the wall. I collect prints and display them. After a while, I have a collection to cycle through, and I am able to sell the previous prints for 2-10x the original value. Many collectors make quite a bit in the art world, and the art print market is the most affordable to jump into with a minimal amount of risk. One of my college professors is one of the most successful art collectors in the world, Libby Lumpkin (Oversees Steve Wynn's collection, etc.).
Lately I have been pretty into Ron English, Dave Kinsey. I have always been a big Ralph Steadman fan and for pure resale value, Shepard Fairey. Of course with my taste of modern artists, I am an obvious fan of Warhol, Lichtenstein, Robert Rauschenberg, David Hockney.
The next step in collecting for me, is obviously that next tier of artists, but the newer artists are an easy stepping stone, with an abundance of prints available.
