No one argues that for instance the Greeks achieved extremely complex things or that the Egyptians built things that still baffle us today. It still is nothing compared to what we have achieved in the last 100 years.
We are not arrogant about it, we should be proud that we live at this time because humans have accomplished more in this short time than any other time in history. It's just a shame we worry more about the next iPhone than solving the problems that face us.
From the time of the Greeks until just before the Civil war man traveled by horse and buggy or wooden ships. In the short time frame after the civil war we have built automobiles, massive size boats, invented aircraft and traveled to the moon, ect..ect..

Ya know something?
I can start today and build a car like none ever seen before.
It will not take much time at all if I spend the money.
The reason it will be so fast is because:
I don't have to invent a fucking wheel!
Or a piston, or a cam, or a tranmission, or a break system, or a steering device,
or an electricity generator know as the alternator, or a air bag or a sun roof or a..........
It's so much faster for me because all the "slow people" born before me already
made that shit.
Our book of knowledge got bigger and now with the internet we can sift through the
even bigger book even faster.
Get the fuck over it. You are no more intelligent that the first man who landed on this
planet. He had to figure out how to survived right away, but you die in 3 days in
the same jungle with all your brains. Go figure dude!
