No, what he's trying to say, but too stupid to effectively communicate is that there is at least some reason why people might promote something they're not aboslutely sure about as being fact, and that's a financial incentive. It's more or less the counter argument for "why would scientists make this stuff up??".
I'm not convinced man contributes significantly to global temperature change. I'm more inclined to think things like the Sun have a much larger effect than we as a species do. I'm willing to admit I could well be wrong. I don't oppose more research, and I think we should absolutely do everything we can do to reduce our footprint on this planet, in every sense. I'm dead against bullshit like carbon taxes though.
