What pr0 outlined is what every employer wants. However even if the employee is ever grateful for the opportunity, as soon as a new and better one (even extremely marginally better) comes along they will bolt. That's why McDonalds doesn't retain 16 year olds. That's why sales reps move around 6 times. People appreciate it and then fuck off. It's normal.
As an employer you have to go above and beyond to offer the WORTHWHILE employees the perks that keep them around. Obviously you will have turn over no matter what your business or approach. But even the woman with 3 kids who will suck your balls for the job will bitch and talk behind your back to her family and be looking for something else while writing your blog updates.
