Not bitter at all. I just think it is a cruel joke for them to play on this industry.
They are shooting themselves in the foot with this one. There are a lot of people who can barely afford to go to one or two shows a year...And there are even more who can not afford to go to any of them. Now they throw a show that will cost a grand even for a local to attend. How stupid is that? So far I have not seen ONE person come forward and defend or even attempt to justify this cost.
IMO...The shows are a good place to network, meet NEW people, and get NEW business relations started. The people who can afford to go to this show already know each other. Seems pretty counter productive to me.
No offense meant to those who are going..but..I have already met you, I will see you again, and I will use my spare grand to run a nice bar tab in Montreal, Miami, Mexico, Vancouver, NYC in September, or wherever.....
