I don't know how many of you are familiar with the two contests I have done on another board but I want to take it global this time.
So far I have raised over $817.00 from other webmasters. I am now waiting for an epass transfer so that I can start the new contest.
For those of you that don't know what I'm talking about this is what I'm doing.
First you need to download a program from

This is a program that uses your leftover CPU processing power to crunch numbers that are data used to figure out the structures of different proteins that are part of the cause of most human cancers. There is also research going on her that is working for a cure for A.I.D.S and other diseases.
This research is made available to the public when it is finished so that any scientist can have a look at it. Knowing the structure of complex molecules can lead to new drugs that will help combat many human ailments.
When you sign up you will nee to join the team called MAS_Community. This way I can watch everyone's progress when the contest starts.
Each piece of data that is sent to your computer for crunching has a point value assigned to it based on it's size. Small units of data might only be worth a few hundred points while others could be worth several thousands.
Whenever a contest starts I start adding up the points that each participant collects. I then divide the total number of points at the end of the contest and set a value for each point.
So lets say all the participants together finished 100,000 points. $817/100,000 makes each point worth .00817. If you completed 20k of those points I would epass you $163.40 at the end of the contest.
This creates competition and gets more people involved.
The last two contest I did were only on one board but this time I would like to cross post it to as many boards as I can to get more participants.
I'd also like to have a special thread on GFY and have some sponsors offer a few prizes if anyone is interested. These can be 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prices or they can be random prizes given out to anyone completing a minimum amount of points.
In the case of a random prize I would even be willing to make a youtube video showing me putting everyone's name in a hat and drawing out the winners.
