Yeah but, you know I think the real title should have been
How can you describe these days pop CULTURE in one sentence..
What's the movement in the pop culture.. it doesn't make sense to reason if one listens to radio or not, let's talk about what is the mass spread "culture" and what does it try to say.
you have 50's - rock n roll - rebellion, short skirts hairdos cool cars etc.
you have 60's and hippie shit, soft drugs and love and all that crap
you have 70's and everyone is sick of hippies so it's heavy metal, alternative acts roots of new wave and punk / punk rock etc.
you have 80's and it's pure decadence, new romance all that synthesizer shit, hair metal and it's all about having fun wasting money, while there's trash metal movement emerging to bring something for those, who are not that happy end easy
you have the 90's with Seattle scene that's again somewhat a revolt against hair metal arena rock etc. and is the more raw sound that tries to have more meaning.
You have trip hop which again is nothing funny but very real and very accurate for the times of digital emptiness that we're facing these days
NOTE that for example Portishead's Dummy was voted album of the year in 94 or 95 and you had Portishead on MTV.
Now you have 00's and what is the movement now?
Is there any movement in the popular culture?
apart from those Emo morons or massive explosion of douchebaggin with the most mindless easy listening music of all time in the background?
Is there anything available to masses that wouldn't be just a pre-fabricated impotent pose without a real meaning?
