In the 1970s and 1980s they were telling us there was a cooling trend and we all thought we were going to freeze to death. This is just a phase.
That's not to say that we shouldn't be friendly to the environment. I know I recycle, keep my water for my lawn on minimum settings and turn it off when it rains, etc etc.
