It was also never up to the schools to teach us about nutrition. That was our parents job to do. The school may have briefly covered it, but it is not hard to figure out what is and isn't healthy. The schools now are serving pretty healthy foods.

actually yes you can blame fast food alot more than ppl think....just because McD's has what they call "healthy" foods...doesnt make them "healthy"...look at their salads....when you and i make a salad...its lettuce, tomatoes, onions, etc etc etc....all real ingredients in raw form that we chop up....when McD's makes theirs, its processed onions, processed lettuce....etc...the crap they add to their foods to keep them fresh longer are also not truly healthy...

think of KFC trying to be all good with their new grilled chicken....great idea and the masses fled to eat it (like cattle to a trough) and say "im eating healthy at KFC"...then you find out that KFC is using BEEF additives to make their chicken tasty....MSG is another sneaky lill ingredient in the foods we eat...yeah you may not find it in Chinese take out anymore, but you will find plenty of it in anything Frito-Lay makes...

i agree that it is up to the individual to eat healthier...i lost 45lbs cutting out fast food, eating basically half an American portion in restaurants and just watching what i eat...i never really drank soda/pop, but have increase the water intake...

Julie....you look fine as is...dont buy into the size mentality...
