Possibly, if the customer claims fraud. With chargebacks, there's no limit in how far back one can go, when fraud is alleged.

There's still a timelimit, but here's the catch ... when it comes to fraud, the clock often starts from the fraud report date!

And also, in a rebill situation, a processor may justify taking back all rebills, even if they started years ago, if the most recent related rebill occurred within the past few months.

It's possible for one to contest such chargebacks, but takes much time and effort.

While I've read some horror stories on GFY regarding chargebacks, they pale in comparison to those I've read on the PayPal forums - sellers getting hit with chargebacks for the purchase of physical goods (non-recurring) transactions a year or more later!
