tbh with ya, if you plan on growing the site fast then i would recommend to use a dedicated server. When things grow bigger on your end and the server isnt capable of handling it all, you simply add a remote sql server to it and a content server and things should be fine again.

For sites depending on scripts, even if they heavily cache pages, i allways recommend going dedicated and not virtual, as it sucks to move stuff over and often leaves ya with errors and stuff that you need to fix.

btw im in no means fluid14.com support or anything, st0ned or zeroquest could prolly answer your question better, but from an experienced webmasters pov id say go dedicated ;)
