That is the thing, it's all relative. If you looked up the net worth of the person who spent that money, you would realize it would be like you or I going out and spending $100 on dinner.
Where as, for someone broke as a joke, they would see the $100 spend on one dinner and think 'I could eat on that for more than a month!'.
