i thought they shot themselves in the foot when they killed Doakes.
killing Rita cut the whole damn foot off and crammed it up their ass until they tasted it.
what is interesting about dexter is NOT that he kills people. it's his interactions with the people around him and learning how to be a human through them. without Doakes there was no pressure on the legal angle.
without Rita, the entire duality of the character is shot.
I'm not looking forward to next season for the following reason: it looks like the whole season is going to be dealing with the aftermath from the last episode. Dex has no alibi for the murder, and the murder doesn't fit trinity's pattern, so people will ask ALOT of questions about why dex sent the kids away, where he was while the murder was taking place, etc etc etc.
I'll watch it and find out, but i do not have high hopes for next season.
