Yes thats really because of the concept of "a camera taking a picture"....if you look at laptops etc the " cam " is at the front and as cams on mobile devices increase and ipad type of devices are released you will see more and more front "cams" in my view....Also my earlier comments are just ideas for the domain ...it could used/adapted for a number of uses.
