That is the beauty of the bible. you can read it and interpret it anyway you like. I have some friends that are very VERY religious and will quote the bible to me, but when I ask them about parts of it they tell me that you don't have to take it all literally. It is pretty interesting to me how people will build a code of morals and values around something that they only take in part or not at its literal sense. Seems kind of convenient.
