I think thats the problem, that he is a little more kinky than the average husband/wife so it would ruin his reputation of being the all American guy that everyone can like and support. One sidestep and he can be forgiven but if he is a "freak" that like to domination, anal and other "sick" stuff than its a long long way back to the profitable endorsements.
