I think the ipad will be just as popular as the iphone , for the simple fact that the usability of it will be as simple as an iphone or ipod. I think alot of people miss the simplicity of using an apple product and when you mix that with a product that can replace most peoples laptops and desktops ( internet , email , pictures , video ) it will be a huge success. I'm not a huge apple fan but they make things which might seem hard on a PC very easy on their platform. Have you went shopping for a laptop lately , The average person doesn't understand or care about if it's a Pentium, Dual-core , windows 7/vista/xp , How much Ram. They just want something simple , that works.
I wouldn't be surprised if you see an ipad sitting in over 50% of peoples living rooms in the next couple years ,it will be the average persons tool for booking flights , ordering groceries , emailing family , paying bills . etc .I always think if my grand parents told me they wanted a computer to do some simple tasks on it , would you recommend a net book , or an ipad . I'm pretty sure the easiest/best route would be with an ipad.
