If you wish to try it without having to partion or commit try
Wubi. It is a special version of Ubuntu that will install on Windows like a normal windows program and can be easily removed using the Windows "Add or Remove" function in the Windows control panel.
That is what I would suggest for anybody wishing to try it out without having to partition your disk. Perfect for new users to take a test drive.

If you don't care for it just uninstall it like any other Windows program.
