All of these home demos in a small pan of water are kind of comical. While I am sure some of these people may have decent ideas, there is a big difference between a small 2 gallon pan of water and a couple hundred miles of water, that at times has 5+ foot waves. You would need millions of tons of that stuff to cover the oil slick, and thousands of barges to hold the collected materials with tens of thousands of boats picking it up. Not to mention if the waves would cause it to sink or not work in the first place.
Also to all of you einstein / mr wizards out there you do know that the gulf of mexico is SALT WATER!!!! stop doing your genius ideas in tap water. Salt water could make the results a lot different. christ sakes...
