Cause and effect. Action / Reaction. What ever you want to call it, there is a reason why people are being stopped, and its not because the cops in AZ are racist or have a hardon for Mexicans. If there wasn't so many mexican people in AZ that were illegal the cops wouldn't be checking people.
Perfect example is the blacks in a particular part of the city here in the New Orleans. 99% of this part of town is black, and it is by far the wrost crime part of the city. It is all Black on Black crime, with almost all of the crime being committed by young blacks, 16 - 25 years old. The cops started putting a lot of extra protrolls in this particular area and if they saw young blacks hanging out on the corners doing nothing they would stop and ask them what they were doing and to show id. They actually started cleaning up the area and some of the people started screaming "racist" "profiling" etc. So the police stopped and the murder rate and crime went back up. WTF? some the people living in that area rathered live with more crime and a better chance of being killed vs having the cops stop people and ask them for id. How can they be so f ucking stupid. It wasn't being "racist" the cops were trying to help the other black people living there and protecting them the only way they could. It's not like the other blacks report crimes, no one ever comes forward. The cops were trying to be proactive and protect people.
Same thing happening with this illegal immigration shit. The STATISICS show a lot of MEXICANS are illegal, then to get the ILLEGALS OUT, which is the greater good for other LEGAL MEXICANS and other residents, is to be proactive and protrol and check the people who most likely fit the bill of being in the demographic that could be breaking the law. period end of story. People need to look at the greater good (for themselves and everyone who is not breaking the laws) and get that fucking chip off of their shoulder that god forbid they have to stop and answer some questions.

Profiling is always defended as "for the greater good". Doesn't make it right, and if you were on the receiving end of the profiling, you'd be saying the same thing.
