travel times, sleeping in your own bed, being familiar with your surroundings, special treatment on and off the field.
the horns are blowing for both sides so how can you say it benefits or is negative to one side or the other?
home field you also know the pitch.
i do not think in an international tournament home field comes into advantage as much considering that most of the players have to travel distances anyway.
the benefit for an international tournament for the home country is an economic impact. knowing this you can also spend more money on training and development prior to the tournament.
