fuck all this fancy CGI/computer enhanced stuff of today...I love the old cheesy practical effects and silly rubber suits.

The other day, I picked up this collection from BestBuy

Not really a bad flick ion the bunch....
Damn thats one hell of a collection, i have a similar one but only 25 and some are pretty lame.
But seeing that list I now need to add-
# Creature from the Haunted Sea (1961) - very funny Roger Corman horror comedy.
# Carnival of Souls (1962)
# The Last Man on Earth (1964) (this is the first version of "I Am Legend" which i would take any day over the Will Smith crap remake)

yes i am another one who says screw cgi, it still looks fake and it takes them millions to do it.
on the other hand, even tho i do like low budget cheap ass effects like It Conquered The World, there were many 50's films which still look great-
Forbidden Planet, Day The Earth Stood Still, alot of Harryhausen stop motion animation flicks are great. sure they may seem a little jerky in the motion, but still better than the uninspiring cgi effects i see today.
