Lastly, peopel who have the wart virus may not necessarily show these lumps ever since there immune system can deal with it, they are only contagious when they show on the skin.
Also, they do not keep on reappearing again and again unless you are exposed to the virus again or your immune system is low.
I was also under the impression that the wart virus stays in the system for ever, but I asked my doc as a general question when I saw him and he said that the virus does not replicate like HIV and your system can get rid of it.... a flu is a virus too but we are able to get risd of it so am not sure what to say about whether it stays with you forever....
