You can disable the jquery shadowbox stuff pretty easily which should give you the results you want.
One thing that I would recommend though is to integrate the gallery functions directly inside your loop/code instead of using the short code stuff.

Yea, I disabled it and right now it's set to open an image on it's own page but it doesn't look very SEO friendly and it just opens the image, doesn't show the gallery below it.
What do you mean about integrating the functions in the code? What does that get me?
Also, thanks for the replies on UU guys, I may try that out if/when my blog starts pulling in some $$, but right now it's a mainstream blog and only pulling in about 200 visitors a day =/ Still working on link building / SEO
