We have one of the above-mentioned server with Pacificrack and for anyone with moderately heavy database driven sites, that 3450 processor rocks. It's easily handling a 40,000 unique a day wordpress based blog we have PLUS running an ad server (openx) and doing it rather smoothly.

For the cost of the server, profit margins are extremely good at this price point.

The only downside with this specific server config is that the processr cannot be doubled for a dual processor config. The next step up, I assume, would be the Nehalem 5502's or so, but they'd be without hyperthreading. Thus, the next logical upgrade would probably be to 5520's or even 5620s. But, I digress.

For the price, we've found it to be excellent value for what we put it through on a daily basis. We've enjoyed having a presence at Quadranet and continue to expand our presence there.
