yeah thats what i heard... sucks. I'm in a contract with AT&T, like most people and signing my number over to Google voice will void the agreement.
however, im wondering if you can add a 2nd number through AT&T (not voip) like you could with older blackberries. then i could forward all my main number calls to google voice, then those back to my new number... ARGH! headache!

years ago i found a company that specialized in this. You took your SIM and connected to this device and when you left your house you decided what phone you wanted it to send to. problem is they had a huge monthly service and their "sync" feature was HORRIBLE. I got to demo it about 4 years ago for a month while I was going to do an SEM campaign for them.
Company ended up flopping right when newer smart phones came out. Was a great idea as I had a Nokia e65 and Motorola KRAZR that I would swap out depending on what I was doing
