And the occasional 1 or 2 cigs per day, but it was VERY difficult to break 1 to 3.
Anyhow, I started with forcing myself to NOT have the habitual smokes...
1. When I wake up.
2. After food.
3. When first getting into a car.
4. After sex.
5. With coffee.
6. With alcohol.
7. When taking breaks.
And so on. When those times would come around, I would simple not smoke, and would wait until after the craving passed to have a cig.
That has helped with quitting a lot more than I probably realize. I think if I were still a pack-a-day, I don't know that I would be able to do it.
So, just an FYI for anyone else looking to quit... The hard part is breaking the habit, if you do that before you try quitting, your chances increase significantly of quitting for good.
