Depends on how you look at it.
Look at the world pre 9/11 and then look at it today. Look at the insane amount of security in place now on a global scale. Look at the airports. Look at new laws passed to allow eavesdropping and searching property without warrants. Look at laws they are still trying to pass because of it all. Do they really need an internet kill switch? And it's only going to get worse.
Before 9/11 did you see soldiers with machine guns and attack dogs walking through the airport? I didn't.
When I see this, I can only think the terrorists have already succeeded.
I don't know what their original plans were, but they've done a hell of a job disrupting how Americans (and some other places around the world) live.
We have terrorist attacks almost daily here in the south of the country, all from Muslim extremists. Road side bombs, shootings, blowing up schools and banks... but life goes on and it's so common now it hardly makes the news. It's a way of life here, as it's a way of life in many other areas of the world. Eventually it will become a way of life in the USA. Just a matter of time.
