my friends are great....it's other people I don't really care for...I used to be more humanitarian, down in the trenches volunteering at homeless shelters, helping charities, etc. The more people I came in contact with, the less I gave a shit about humanity...fair or not, emotional or not, it's how I feel.
According to the law, Vick did his time and is free to do whatever he wants. That's fine, but it doesn't mean I personally have to give him a pass on what he did...anymore than I'd give a pass to Charles Manson or my sister's first ex-husband who spent many years in prison...hey, he did his time...doesn't mean he's still not a wifebeating, child beating, child molesting asshole...
Call it emotions, or whatever, it doesn't change how I feel.
The fly example? Maybe if I strapped them with weapons and had them attack each other, then killed the losers, unless they were already dead...ok, dog lover/fly hater me would probably get a kick out of that ;-)
If I did do something like that, I wouldn't walk around and pretend that I loved flies or wanted to own a couple...letting Michael Vick own a dog would be like letting Richard Ramirez run a daycare center...even though, ya know, RR is doing his time for his crime...
