You can't. It's bullshit. There may be places like Haiti where desperately poor people will rent out their relatives for what seems like a paltry sum, and there may be surprisingly diverse duties can be performed by your hired help, but this is in no way the same as slavery.
The people pushing these statistics are trustfund bleeding hearts and armchair revolutionaries with agendas and want us to believe that people who are so poor that they cant survive if they don't have to do jobs they don't want are in fact, slaves.
When the fact is that all over the world the people who go to work everyday don't do it because they love the work, they do it because they need the money.
There is nowhere where you can buy a live-in maid for any amount as mentioned in the OP's article. You might be able to strike that bargain with some scammer, sure,
1) but will you have a title deed for that person? no
2) if that person decides to leave can you call the police and have your property returned to you? no
3) can you do whatever you want to that person with no legal problems or reprisals? well, maybe if you bribe the right people you might be able to, but that's not slavery it's just old fashioned corruption.
