I took the liberty of loading your page with YSlow and i think there are quite a few things you can easily improve for better load times.
Perhaps that hasnt got your priority yet, as you are still developing the site but i thought i would just give you the heads up.
Google Yslow to download it either for Chrome or Firefox.
