Someone would have to be a complete idiot to think they would be better off sitting in their bunker by themselves than with a group of people. At some point they are going to need a doctor or engineer or just another pair of strong hands not to mention companionship to really survive.
Ever watch the movie " Castaway " with Tom Hanks? Why do you think he risked his life to leave an Island that can easily sustain him on a crappy raft. He had every thing he needed to survive but was willing to risk his life for something else. What was that about?
Your line of thinking is really the biggest threat to mankind. We won't last when people take an " every man for themselves " attitude and put it into action.

I hear what you are saying, but when the shit hits the fan, its going to get ugly. I didn't say there would be just one person there that kills everyone else. What if they have 50 people in their inner circle? Is that enough to have companionship, strong hands, fuck, and so forth?
If they have 50 and plenty of food, why let another 500 in? I'm not saying it would be right not to, I'm saying what I think would likely happen.
