other than the native indians (and perhaps they immigrated from Asia 100,000's years ago) we are all immigrants, and laws and regulations and border quotas etc are all just constructs of changing governments and bureaucracies over the centuries......
these so called "illegals" are an essential part of our economy, and enforcement ebbs and flows as the need of the moment goes, whether the need of the moment is pr and votes for some racist sherriff or whether it is the need of the local economy at the moment, it goes both ways and always will, these workers are implicitly encouraged to come here and then they face difficulties as they are just trying to work hard and make a better life for themselves, and their families
