The Oklahoma City bombing was done by a few nutjobs and a similar event could occur in the future. So far, it has not.

This is the difference; between a well organized act orchestrated by a terrorist organization that has a foreign based command and a terrorist act of local extremist.

The terrorist act of local extremist can be easier to defend against (sometimes).
