anyone sued/suing tumblr for damages?
Has anyone ever partnered up with their lawyer and sued tumblr for damages?
I've never had much trouble protecting the hundred or so shoots I own. In 10 years in the biz I have only ever had to send out maybe 20 C&D letters. But I have just discovered tumblr.com and I could easily send them 200+ C&D letters. I've already sent them 6 and they have removed the 18 pics referenced in the letters, but their business model seems to specifically encourage "re-blogging" the proliferation and duplication of stolen content (my content) far and wide.
My business is hurting, I could use the money (perhaps in large part due to tumblr's business model of growing their business on the back of stolen content). Is it worth it do you think to work with a copyright lawyer and turn this negative into a positive and seek compensation from tumblr for the damages they are doing to my small business?
