And there seems to be an equal percentage of girls in the biz addicted to them as there are in the "general population".
And a person who is pilled out can be one of the most frustrating situations you'll ever find yourself in. It's bad enough when I deal with people like that on a social level (at a nightclub, etc.) but trying to shoot a scene with somebody? A nightmare.

I would think a girl on downers would appear much like a drunk girl, and as such would be easily detectable, and undesirable as a performer.
I am pretty open minded about people using drugs, however, I am concerned about health, addiction, and social issues (crime, violence, etc), associated with drug abuse, and I personally avoid most drugs myself these days. I still attend and have fun at parties, but my party animal days are pretty much in the past; I'm trying to maintain my remaining brain cells for as long as I can, lol - hell, I don't even drink alcohol anymore (sober 6+ months so far).
BTW, I don't consider cannabis a drug in the negative sense - I consume medical cannabis legally.
Years ago I remember that I was supposed to shoot a model that was pretty hot at the time named Jade Hsu, but she was so strung out on something that I passed on her. Other than that, I've only had a few girls flake, which people told me might be due to drug issues (out of hundreds of models) - I didn't really care to find out, since a flake is flake in my book, and they got scratched anyway.
For liability reasons, I do not allow performers to consume drugs or alcohol on my sets. It has nothing to do with being cool (plus guys have enough performance issues as it is without getting drunk dick).
There are too many girls out there who appreciate the work to worry about the ones with problems/attitudes.
