But if we keep going on the current path at the current pace, work will dry up for many people in the next 100 years and 30 or 40 percent unemployment will be unavoidable. It just doesn't take that many people to put food on the table anymore.
Sounds a lot like Player Piano by Kurt Vonnegut, I read that about 25 years ago and thought at the time it sounded a lot like a world that I wouldn't really enjoy much.
