If our govt. didn't bail out the banks we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Wasn't the banking crisis caused by the housing crisis? In other words everyone's homes going into foreclosure and property values dropping?

Well...if the federal govt. were on our side (which they are NOT)...they COULD have taken that TRILLION dollars and issued it out to homeowners to pay off their mortgages.

Then the banks wouldn't have needed to be bailed out, people wouldn't STILL be getting foreclosed on, and the housing market would have stabilized.

But our GOVERNMENT chose to give it straight to the banks instead (the same banks that are now adding billions of dollars in fees because they considered the loss of being able to charge exorbitant "fines" as a loss of "revenue")

Now gee...I wonder why the government did that instead of helping the American people and really solving the problem?

BECAUSE IT'S THE GOVERNMENT WHO ARE THE REAL CROOKS. And all of you are being played like a fiddle by them when you argue about "Democrats" and "Republicans" and/or blame "wall street".

This is a power game being played. And as usual the masses are being used as pawns.
