Pretty easy to undermine that $25 million for someone prepared to put in some effort.
1. Strategically targeted negative press releases about the "dangers" of .xxx
2. Targeted phone campaign to 'shock jocks' on talkback radio about the dangers of .xxx
3. Telephone surveys garnishing support anti .xxx , reverse marketing.
A mere $25k could undermine $25 million in PR spent by ICM Registry because tabloid press, radio, television will respond to shock horror danger danger stories much more readily than eating up ICM Registry's guff.
Example telephone survey campaign. Make people scared.
"Hello Madam, I am conducting a survey for the "Think of the Children Coalition""
"Would you mind participating to save the children from pornography ?"
"Here are the questions."
"Madam, Do you agree exposing children to pornography is abhorrent ?"
"Yes"
"Madam, Do you think it's the role of society to protect children from pornography ?"
"Yes"
and so on until you get to the clincher by which time you've scared the willies out of middle income suburban mother of 2 and have her calling talkback radio in outrage.
