being from seattle and knowing a few people that have houses on the water i will fill in something that this article doesnt cover.
some parts of the lake were developed almost a hundred years ago, when it wasn't a desirable place to live. some of these houses are in terrible states of disrepair but are still valued well into the millions because the land values have gone up thousands of percent over the last few decades. without knowing more about the house, its really hard to get behind the people bashing these people.
some clearly not as sly older people on the lake have lost their homes after being forced out by exorbitant properties taxs, because the rich wanted their lake front land.
